The Vietnam e-visa is an electronic visa issued by the Vietnam Immigration Department, allowing eligible foreigners to enter Vietnam conveniently without visiting an embassy or consulate.

  • Eligibility: Available to citizens of all countries and territories worldwide (expanded since August 2023 under Resolution 127/NQ-CP). Applicants must be outside Vietnam at the time of application and hold a valid ordinary passport (not falling under specific exclusion clauses in Vietnam’s Immigration Law, such as certain security or criminal provisions). It is not for those already in Vietnam on temporary residence.
  • Validity and stay: The e-visa is valid for up to 90 days from the date of entry (or issuance, depending on application details). It supports single-entry (one entry during validity) or multiple-entry (unlimited entries/exits during the 90-day period). The actual duration of each stay is tied to the validity period—plan your entry date carefully, as extensions inside Vietnam are generally not available for tourist e-visas.
